The Stanley Classic Mountain King rooms are the largest hotel rooms in the main building of the Stanley Hotel. Each room features a comfortable king bed with custom, hand-made bedding; a great view of the surrounding Rocky Mountains, free Wi-Fi and 42" LG flat screen televisions.  

The Stanley Spirited Queen Suite features One Queen Bed in the bedroom, with a queen-size pull out sofa sleeper in the living area.

The Presidential Cottage is a stand-alone five-bedroom, four-bath residence located on the west side of the historic Stanley Hotels. The main floor features a kitchenette with full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave, dining table and breakfast bar. The living area features a couch and entertainment center, and doors open to a private deck with views of the Rocky Mountain. The main floor bedroom features a king bed and ensuite bathroom. Two upstairs bedrooms feature king beds and share a hallway bathroom. Two more bedrooms are located downstairs, each with private bathrooms. With 5 bedrooms, kitchen and living areas, spacious deck and designated parking spots, The Presidential Cottage is the perfect location for families, bridal parties, small retreats and other special gatherings.

Located directly above the Music Room belonging to F.O. Stanley’s wife, Flora, this room honors her legacy and the soft presence experienced on this floor. Guests have reported hearing soft steps, rustling silk fabrics, light floral scents or faint piano music in the middle of the night.

Named for the spirit of Lucy, a young girl known for her playful nature and fondness for exploring all areas of the resort, the room’s guests have reported playful laughter, items being moved and waking up to the feeling of someone bouncing lightly at the foot of the bed. Guests have also reported the feeling of a small presence kneading on the covers, which is very possibly Comanche, F.O. Stanley’s cat, who would be a natural companion and playmate of Lucy.

Named in honor of Elizabeth Wilson, one of the Stanley Hotel’s most devoted housekeepers, this room pays tribute to her lasting presence in the hotel’s history. In 1911, while checking on guestrooms during a power outage, Elizabeth entered a guestroom unaware of a gas leak. When she lit a lantern, the room exploded, throwing her through the floor below. Miraculously, she survived and returned to work at the Stanley, continuing her service for many years. Some guests reported feeling a nurturing presence in the suite connected to Elizabeth Wilson’s enduring spirit. Known for her devotion to the comfort and care of hotel guests during her lifetime, Elizabeth’s legacy continues to be felt in the suite, providing an otherworldly sense of warmth and hospitality.

The Haberdasher pays homage to the refined craftsmanship and timeless style of the early 1900s, when the Stanley first opened its doors. In that era, a haberdasher was more than a clothier — they were curators of elegance, outfitting gentlemen in fine hats, tailored suits, and polished details that defined sophistication. Guests have reported seeing a man dressed in old-fashioned attire standing quietly in the corner of the room — ever the gentleman, perhaps lingering to ensure his guests are properly attired for their stay. Additionally, some guests have experienced visuals such as the face of a man inside a blue ball, seemingly floating outside the room, adding an eerie element to the room's charm.

Spacious and full of character, the Cowboy Attic Suite is said to be visited by a friendly cowboy from long ago. Guests have reported seeing him pacing quietly at the foot of the bed, hat in hand, or feeling a gentle tuck of the blankets as they drift off to sleep. Women have shared stories of a soft kiss on the forehead — his way, perhaps, of saying goodnight.
