Freelan Oscar (F.O.) Stanley was an inventor, entrepreneur, and co-creator of the Stanley Steamer automobile. After visiting Estes Park to improve his health, he fell in love with the area and built The Stanley Hotel as a destination for wellness, fresh mountain air, and luxury hospitality.
The Stanley Hotel is famous for its connection to Stephen King’s The Shining, its historic architecture, breathtaking Rocky Mountain views, and its founder, F.O.
