Located on the third floor of the Historic Lodge, Cassie’s Spirited Grand King provides spacious accommodations, a west-facing view of the sunset over the mountains and a spirited story. Named for Cassie, a former canine resident of the Lodge, this room’s occupants have reported hearing faint dog barks, the sound of snuffling, paw steps in the hallway or light scratching on the door. A friendly golden retriever who used to deliver newspapers to guests, Cassie is a welcome spirit that guests are always happy to receive a visit from in the early hours of the morning.

Honoring the spirit of Paul, notorious for his persnickety behavior in the Historic Concert Hall, guests have reported experiences of items being moved or straightened, drawers opening, cold spots in the room or shadowy movement just out of sight, especially late at night. Paul is known for being a particular rule-follower, displeased with guests who stay up too late or keep untidy belongings on the counters.

Multiple guests have reported unexplained experiences in this room; flickering lights, electronics turning on by themselves, flickers of moment seen out of the corner of their eye. The most famous story, however, comes when Grant Wilson from the Ghost Hunters television show stayed in the room and reported seeing a small table levitate off the floor.
