Stanley Hotel History & Archive
The history of the beautiful Stanley Hotel is captivating. Learn about the hotel, the Stanleys, Estes Park and the surrounding area by spending an hour with the Stanley Hotel Museum Curator. Find out how guests came to the hotel, what amenities were available for guests, how the Stanleys made their fortune, as well as many other interesting historic facts. For sixty minutes, guests are given a personal, hands-on tour of the Archive Room. As each story unfolds, artifacts are examined by all with white museum gloves. Enumerable photos and postcards are also a part of the ever-growing collection, for all to see.
Groups are an intimate size, eight or less, and you will have a very individualized experience, with the curator’s undivided attention. Questions are encouraged as you are able to delve deeper into your favorite area of interest. F.O. and Flora Stanley come alive as you are shown the original billiard table, photo dry plates, F.O.’s drafting table, hand-blown light bulbs, and much more. Stories and artifacts from subsequent owners are also shared.
