Get King’s Shining Sequel Where it All Started

Special Hotel Package Celebrates Shining Sequel

ESTES PARK, Colo. – June 21, 2013 – Stephen King was inspired to pen one of the most frightening tales of the century after spending a night at the near-deserted Stanley Hotel days before it closed for the winter season. The Stanley has always embraced its ties to The Shining and will celebrate the release of King’s follow-up to the classic novel with a special Doctor Sleep package – aptly named after the sequel.

The Stanley’s Doctor Sleep package is available starting Sept. 24, 2013, once the book is released. The special offer includes a copy of the newly released Doctor Sleep novel along with a copy of The Shining (both hardcover) and one night’s accommodations at The Stanley. Rates begin at 217 for the Doctor Sleep package. Upgrades to Room 217, where King stayed when he was inspired to write The Shining, also are avaialble.

The Stanley, ominously sitting in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains, is where it all started. Those who may have wondered whatever happened to little Danny Torrance will have their questions answered, as Doctor Sleep follows his haunted journey through adulthood.
